Make it Modern Pillows with RBD - April 2023

Make it Modern Pillows with RBD - April 2023

So you know how I made a bunch of pillow patterns for the Make it Modern series last year with Riley Blake Designs? Good news, the fun is back this year with 12 MORE!!! I'll be posting them the third Thursday of every month. In case you missed the 2022 pillow designs, you can see them here!.

In case you missed it, March's block featured the Swiss Dots collection from the RBD Designers. The colors I used (from top to bottom) were Lavender, Coral, Hot Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Lime, Peacock, and Denim.

April’s pillow features the RBD Basics collection Texture by Sandy Gervais. The colors I used (in order from top to bottom) were Turtle, Rainforest, Turquoise, Orchid, Hot Pink, Flamingo, Popsicle, and Citron. I call it Shuffling Squares.

For April’s block we’re playing with some fun and easy squares! Rotating the blocks gives them some movement. I call it Shuffling Squares.

I went with a bright tropical palette because this collection has so many good colors! Plus I always love scrap friendly patterns that can take all the colors!

I did a classic grid at 1/2" with my 50wt Aurifil thread.
