Riptide On the Edge Quilt

Riptide On the Edge Quilt

I'm an ocean lover. Give me all things with fish and water. This new Riptide line by Citrus and Mint Designs for Riley Blake Designs does not disappoint.

Seriously! It has sharks and surfers and waves and lots more!

And the colors are amazing! Such great choices! I love the mix of tones and prints in this collection.

I originally planned to use a new pattern for this line, but I could not bring myself to  cut it up! I didn't have enough fabric for a standard five-color On the Edge throw quilt, so I improvised and came up with this scrappy-ish version by trying to mirror the main print color on the top and the bottom.

And to top it off I used a serpentine wave stitch on my Bernina that was just perfect!

Those sharks are so awesome!

And of course you all know I love lime green! It adds a fantastic pop! A couple of the prints have a bit of orange too.

It was a happy accident that I didn't order enough of the RBD Basics Mini Hashtag Denim backing fabric because this pieced back came out so adorable! I think this could just as well be the front of a quilt!

I couldn't be more pleased with how this project came out! And this collection is fantastic for anyone...girls as well as boys! And this pattern is a great way to show off these amazing prints!

Riptide will be in stores soon so look out for it! If your favorite quilt shop doesn't have it...ask them to get it. So good! What's your favorite print?

My On the Edge quilt pattern comes in 4 sizes and you can get it here!

Until later, happy sewing!

Jamie
