Support Group Quilt Along - Week 2

Support Group Quilt Along - Week 2

I’m exited to be sharing my progress for WEEK 2 of the the Support Group Quilt Along! I'm sewing along with my friends over at The Fat Quarter Shop to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month all October!

The event features the adorable Support Group Quilt Pattern by Riley Blake Designer Lori Holt whose mom survived breast cancer. In case you missed it, you can read intro post about this quilt along HERE.

Looking for the pattern? You can get a downloadable PDF or printed copy of the Support Group Pattern at the FAT QUARTER SHOP!

For my version, I'll be using my very favorite Riley Blake basics line Blossom by Christopher Thompson. I went with these 12 Blossom brights - Fuchsia, Wisteria, Raspberry, Apricot Blush, Cayenne, Orange, Honey, Emerald City, Green Smoothie, Peacock, Medium Blue, and Denim.

These are my bra #1 blocks from last week.

And here are my bra #2 blocks for the second row! This week I used Blossom fabric in Cayenne, Denim, Emerald City, Peacock, Raspberry, and Wisteria.

This is the Wisteria bra with Cayenne Trim. I think this might be my favorite combo here. I love the way the purple and red pop together.

This is the Peacock bra with Emerald City trim. Loving this combo too! Peacock is one of my favorite Blossom colors.

And last but not least, this is the Denim bra with Raspberry trim.

They're all so pretty!

I'm super excited to see this whole come together! Here are all my blocks so far!

In addition, to my Blossom blocks, I’m also doing a little project with Riley Blake’s new fabric collection called Strength in Pink to celebrate their special partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This is the block I made with it.

Butterflies are always a great choice!

Here are the two I made so far.

Here's the whole  Strength in Pink collection.

I'll be working on bra block #3 this week, so I'll be back to show those off next Friday! Here's the schedule:

QUILT SECTION POSTING DATE
Row 1 bra blocks October 7
Row 2 bra blocks October 14
Row 3 bra blocks October 21
Row 4 bra blocks October 28

I hope you will all follow along and spread some love to all the breast cancer survivors out there! Keep up with us for this event by following @rileyblakedesigns, @sewbrainydesigns, and @fatquartershop on Instagram and use #SupportGroupQuiltAlong and #SupportGroupSAL to see and share work from your fellow quilters.
