In January I started a new series for 2021 called Jumbo Blocks Rock where I take traditional 12" blocks, upsize them to 18", and give them a modern twist. Each month I've been also making a fun pillow using assorted basics from Riley Blake Designs. In case you missed them, here are the pillows from January, February, March, April, May, and June.
For this month I made a Illinois Diamond Remix block which jazzed up the traditional Illinois block.
I'm back using some of my favorite Texture fabric from the RBD basics collections! They really have some great colors and it blends really well even as a background fabric! Plus they have some fun new colors coming later this year!
I really like that Texture can go with so many different styles of fabric!
For this month's pillow, I used Texture in Rouge and Orchid, Mini Hashtag in Purple, Swiss Dot in Cayenne, small (1/8") Gingham in Hot Pink, and of course Confetti Cottons solid in White as the background.
These colors remind me of bright summer flowers!
These reddish colors aren't exact matches but they blend really well together.
I'm still loving the clean edges of no binding, so I think I might keep doing that!
