In January I started a new series for 2021 called Jumbo Blocks Rock where I take traditional 12" blocks, upsize them to 18", and give them a modern twist. Each month I've been also making a fun pillow using assorted basics from Riley Blake Designs. In case you missed them, here are the pillows from January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October.
For this month I made Nine Patch Pinwheel Remix block where I transformed a basic 9 batch block by splitting the center patches and adding HSTs to make it look like it was moving.
For this month's pillow, I went all in on Christmas! I used Swiss Dot in Red and Lime, 1/4" Stripes in Red/White, Medium dot in Lime, Texture in Barn Red. Blossom in Holly, and of course Confetti Cottons solid in White as the background.
Get me some cocoa stat because it's we've definitely got a festive vibe going here! I seriously love this!
I definitely have to zoom in on this quilting! It's not free motion quilting (I don't do that!)...it's actually a squiggle stitch with my walking foot in a regular rectangular grid AND then in a diagonal grid. There were a lot of grids going on here.

I can't wait to see all the block and pillows everyone is making! Be sure to tag me @sewbrainy on Instagram so I can check them out! See you next month!
Until later, happy sewing!
